Finally built.

I am Dan Disipio, the founder of Shared Storage. I first had this idea nearly 10 years ago when I noticed something that never stopped bugging me: people were paying $300, $400 a month for a cold concrete unit across town, while literally next door, someone's garage sat half-empty. A basement with a door that never opened. A parking spot collecting dust.

For years I watched the sharing economy prove itself. People turned empty rooms into income. People turned unused car seats into rides. But nobody had done this for storage. The idea was always the same: connect people who have space with people who need it. I just had to wait for the right moment.

In 2024, I committed fully. We built the entire platform from scratch: the app, the search, the listings, in-app messaging, lease management, and the whole payment infrastructure with Stripe. Months of work went into making sure money moves safely between strangers.

It is not just about cheap storage. It is about trust. Every host is verified. Every payment is secured. Every lease is managed in the app. We built the whole thing so you would feel safe renting from a stranger and a stranger would feel safe renting to you.

In 2026, Shared Storage went live. We are in Toronto and Ottawa. We are adding new cities and hosts every month. A lot of work went into getting here, and there is a lot more to do.
